Detail: Working with the Debtor in Possession through the bankruptcy court, CDC purchased two former brick manufacturing plants from ANH Refractories in 2006. Located in Mexico, MO and Farber, MO, the plants included 1,000,000 square feet of buildings and 1,200 acres.

Solution: ANH was able to divest of these underutilized facilities as well as transfer their environmental liabilities associated with the sties. CDC sold the Farber plant to an investor as well as excess machinery and equipment in Mexico before partnering with other investors to establish Mid America Brick.
