CDC first learned about this 2.7 million square foot property located in York, Pennsylvania, on October 22nd 2000. By December 29th of that year, the real estate purchase for this $30 million plus acquisition was successfully closed. By utilizing its wealth of experience, knowledge, and its ability to move swiftly, CDC emerged with one of the largest, single facility, industrial development purchases of the year.
CDC worked with Caterpillar Corporation to effectively abate all relevant environmental issues ensuring an Act II closure from the State of Pennsylvania. In addition. CDC had begun work to transform this heavy industrial facility into that of a modern, multi-use property making it appealing to both manufacturing and warehousing/distribution concerns alike, when it sold an underutilized portion to a user.
